Vivah and JWM -- WOW movies by Shahid

I am not a typical Shahid fan .... but JWM and Vivah floored me ... specially JWM. Shahid was good at dancing but something few people know is that he has been with Shyamak Davar's as a trainer for more than four years ... you can see that in Kismat connection as well. JWM was a fast paced, emotional, fun and sad movie ... all true hues of a romantic mis-understandings leading to a great end ... Vivah on the other end has a chirpy Amrita and she does very well in the movie ... given that it had to do a lot with her !! A song and dance typical Barjatiya camp movie but is solidly woven and delivers the goodies at the end ...

Murder on the weekend...

Long time no mails... Was occupied with mundane activities though, This weekend I caught up on one of the arty types movie - My Wife's Murder.
It is a fine film, with a gripping story woven around an extremely thought-provoking story idea ending up making you question a million things, including marriage itself – all of the film's couples are miserable. Like any RGV movie, it's slick and dark -- this one just happens to also have a storyline or so says rediff. What impressed me most was Anil's casually serious acting. Hope you guys like it.
Anyways here are a couple of screen grabs from this movie.

Mumbai ki barish ...

Well, never did I feel that rains can be such devastating in Mumbai. I remember making fun about mumbai ki barish ... the weepy, irritating variety is only the sole preserve of Kolkattans I thought. I hope the jungle folks are hale and hearty and strangely though none of you seem to respond. Well anyways I will continue to post and one fine day hope that you guys can join in the party...

Some grim pictures for now (borrowed from the net) ...
On the left - Mahim station
On the right - Bandra-Kurla area

My faith in Mumbai and Mumbaikars will never end ... and hope the sunny days are just round the corneer

From Ashes...

The aussies don't ever stop... here's a captain who got hit but will never say die ...

and those special arms raised in collective glory from Mc-grath tells all..

When can we see team India in this spirit .., hope the srilankan tour with Dravid at helm helps us go up a few notches in the ratings

Welcome aboard Priya....

Its nice to have you here Priya... I am going to make you an admin since you are such a creative person ... None of the others though have registered which makes it difficult for getting more posts on this blog. Would be real nice if you can persuade them to open their hotmail or yahoo id and register up here... :)

The London bombings yesterday coincided with Parvez's speech on how the Pakistani link is bringing bad name to country. If his speech is in earnest then I am sure Manmohan Singh will be happy to "trust and verify" him. No permanent seat on UNSC but that should not worry Indians and should look forward to a sunny future ahead in the Indo-US relation.

I have'nt yet heard of the ICC hearing on Saurav's appeal or lets say BCCI's appeal. Hope this time there is a re-hash of what happened earlier.

Its becoming hot and humid in Kolkata now. No showers here though there is some forcasted in the weekend. My cable guy cut the ESPN out... looks like he didn't pay up. Whatever it is we have an exciting ashes on hand what with the english matching the aussies blow-by-blow.

Will post again in some time.. have a busy schedule today

Its been a long time....

I keep meeting people on chat intermittently... somehow i felt that a blog would help us to keep in touch... post in an input whenever you feel like

Just the other day came to know of some great news from Priya... and Mehul on the other day so guys here's a chance to put up a slice of your life... any news, however disconnected, just keep them coming in...

I still miss Mumbai and don't really know when I will be back but for now Kolkatta is developing at a mad pace. Things are changing and "tables are turning"... but to match Mumbai it would take some time. For starters there is a whole new town planned next to salt lake and probably Sudipta knows about it. The roads are getting better by the day and potholes do vanish in weeks nowadays (far cry from years) what with the current mayor slipping on the slushy roads just before the elections...

Put in your thoughts on Mumbai and whats on up there...

Till then
